The Robert McMillen Civil War Diary on CD.

Daily entries from January 1, 1864 to March 9, 1865.
Robert McMillen, Private N.Y. Vet. Cav. Enlisted August 1863

This is a rare find in the year 2004. I found this diary in a box that had prayer books and other personal diaries that I had purchased at an estate auction last year. I myself thought this was just another prayer book and was kicking the box around for six months before I realized what I had!. A real account of true history that gives the personal story of people who lived the turmoil of the Civil War. Experience the voice of a soldier first hand. You will feel like you are there.

Here is a better way to study the Civil War up close and through the eyes of a Union Soldier. This is the true story of Private Robert McMillen, a young man from Oswego New York who was assigned to guarding prisoners and as fate would have it became a prisoner himself. The feeling and emotion of his daily entries sets this apart from the rest. Not just one or two lines in a journal but entire paragraphs summarizing each day. If you have ever wondered what it was really like at the heart of the conflict, whether on the battlefield or as a prisoner of the civil war this diary is a must! . Historical accounts often portray the dry facts. Now you can experience the real behind the scenes civil war story. This would make an excellent movie but the CD is sold for individual use only.
